How long does it take to build a website?

A simple small-business website can be live in days or a couple of weeks. What usually slows things down is not the building, it is gathering the words and photos.

Typical timescales

A one-page site is often ready within one to two weeks. A multi-page site usually takes two to four weeks, and an online shop longer, depending on how many products there are.

What slows projects down

Waiting for content is the most common delay: prices, descriptions, photos and logos. Rounds of changes and decisions passed between several people add time too.

How to get live faster

Gather your prices, opening hours, a short description of what you do and a handful of good photos before you start. Decide who has the final say on changes.

Domain and hosting

If you already own a domain name, have the login ready. If not, buying one takes minutes, and connecting it to the new site is usually quick.

Webvetra’s timescales

Most Webvetra websites are live in about two weeks once we have your content. Prices are fixed from £79. See how it works or start your project.

Questions

Can a website be built in a day?

A very simple page can be, but a site designed properly around your business is worth a little longer.

Can I change things after launch?

Yes. A website is never truly finished, and small updates are normal.
